The ODFI in turn turns to the ACH Network to verify that the details that have been provided are legit. The Authorize.Net system then transfers the data to its banking system known as the ODFI in order to begin the process of money transfer. Authorize.Net merely acts as a middle man, and this data is processed into more recognizable data for the bank. The merchant who receives the customers’ data then uses the internet to transfer the relevant date to Authorize.Net. Once this step is completed, the purchase is said to be complete, however the transaction process has just begun. It begins with the customer providing relevant data to the merchant either on the phone or over the internet.
